The Lion Sands is situated on a sandbar in the middle of the Sabie River. A total of two lodges are available offering an unparalleled experience and elegant atmosphere. The perfect place to rest and relax in harmony with the rich flora and fauna of South Africa. The Lion Sands is suitable for a family vacation as well as for smaller groups. The exposed location is ideal for watching animals. The Lion Sands can be reached from Johannesburg International airport within an hour by plane.
Rooms and suites
A total of 26 suites and rooms offer a maximum of privacy and luxury. The River Lodge Suites are directly located on the sandy bank of the Sabie River and are characterized by the natural atmosphere and up to 800 years old trees that line the sandy bank. The Ivory Lodge luxury suites promise the highest quality and were voted the third best hotel in the world by the "Tatler Magazine". The "1933 Lodge" inspires by large windows and muted colors that reflect the environment of the suites. All suites have been furnished by the owners with warm, relaxing colors and nestle perfectly into the landscape of South Africa. On-site amenities include an indoor and outdoor shower, bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, private viewing deck, a safe and a minibar.
Culinary
South African cuisine delicacies are served on full board basis, if the weather is fine all dishes can be served in the boma.

A small spa and a fitness club are also available in the Ivory and the River Lodge.
Active
In addition to the two daily game drives, which are organized by experienced rangers, there are many other offers. The evening game drive is connected to an astronomy hour, the clear nights in South Africa are ideally suited for this purpose.
